Former Kogi Deputy Speaker Enema Paul Passes Away

The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Enema Paul, has passed away. He died in the early hours of Saturday at a private hospital in Abuja following an undisclosed illness.

Before his death, Hon. Paul represented Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly of Kogi State. He had previously stepped down from his role as Deputy Speaker due to health challenges and was succeeded by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, who represents the Ibaji State Constituency.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. He described Hon. Paul as a temperate, humble, and committed lawmaker who worked tirelessly for the unity and development of Kogi State through pro-people legislation.

The Speaker also noted Hon. Paul’s strong Christian faith and dedication to family values, which he said transcended religious divides. He prayed for strength and comfort for the late lawmaker’s immediate family, friends, and colleagues in both the current and previous Assemblies.

Hon. Enema Paul will be remembered as a public servant who left a legacy of dedication and service to the people of Kogi State.
