Ododo Urges Appointees to Embrace Transparency and Accountability

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance as essential principles for all political appointees. He made this statement during the opening of a Leadership Retreat and Ministerial Briefing aimed at enhancing the performance and productivity of commissioners, special advisers, and directors-general of government agencies in the state.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike, Governor Ododo stressed that the retreat’s goal was not only to sharpen leadership skills but also to build public trust through good governance. He reiterated that effective leadership would lay a solid foundation for the transformation of Kogi State, particularly in areas of infrastructure development, agriculture, education, and economic growth.

The retreat, themed “The Advance New Direction for Continuity and Consolidation to Strategic Development,” aims to foster teamwork among the appointees and enhance collaboration for sustainable state progress. Governor Ododo outlined his administration’s focus on productivity and infrastructure as key drivers of transformation. He urged all participants to contribute actively to the development of Kogi State, underscoring that their collective efforts would be crucial in achieving the state’s strategic objectives.

Governor Ododo also highlighted the significant strides made by his administration, especially in the agricultural, education, and economic sectors, as well as human development initiatives. He assured the appointees that their roles were vital in achieving the continued growth and progress of the state, stressing that collaboration and dedication to public service were critical for the state’s advancement.

In his closing remarks, Governor Ododo encouraged all political appointees to seize the opportunity to further develop their skills, ensuring that their leadership would positively impact the lives of Kogi State residents. He reaffirmed his commitment to building a prosperous future for the state through effective governance and dedication to the people’s welfare.
