10-Man United Shock Gunners in FA Cup Thriller!

In a thrilling FA Cup clash at the Emirates, 10-man Manchester United pulled off a dramatic victory against Arsenal, winning 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. The match began with both teams battling to take control, but it was Manchester United who struck first. Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, scoring a spectacular curling shot into the top corner after Alejandro Garnacho set him up following a slip from Arsenal’s Gabriel.

However, United’s challenge increased in the 61st minute when Diogo Dalot was shown a second yellow card for a mistimed challenge on Mikel Merino, leaving the Red Devils to play with 10 men for the remaining half hour. Despite the numerical disadvantage, United held firm and found an equalizer in the 63rd minute. Gabriel volleyed in a stunning shot from inside the box after a corner, restoring parity for Arsenal.

Arsenal, eager to capitalize on their man advantage, had the perfect chance to take the lead when Kai Havertz was awarded a penalty after a tackle by Harry Maguire in the box. However, the spot-kick was delayed due to a scuffle involving several players, including Maguire, Havertz, and Gabriel. When Martin Ødegaard stepped up to take the penalty, United’s goalkeeper Altay Bayindir became the hero by diving to his left and denying the Arsenal captain, keeping the score level.

As the match progressed, Arsenal continued to pressure United, but missed opportunities became a recurring theme. Despite several strong chances from Declan Rice and Havertz, the Gunners couldn’t find a way through the resolute United defense and goalkeeper Bayindir. The match entered extra time, where United’s resilience continued to shine, defending vigorously while Arsenal searched for a breakthrough.

In the penalty shootout, Arsenal’s hopes were dashed as Havertz’s penalty was saved by Bayindir, while United’s Joshua Zirkzee coolly converted the decisive spot-kick. The result meant United advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup, while Arsenal suffered an early exit for the third time in the last four seasons.
