Former Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello has called on lawmakers from the state to unite behind Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. Bello made the call during a Ramadan Iftar gathering with lawmakers, supporters, and well-wishers.
The event, which was initially a spiritual gathering, turned into a strategic political discourse. Bello emphasized the importance of unity among political stakeholders in the state, urging them to support Governor Ododo.
Bello also called on lawmakers to continue standing firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in support of his administration’s progressive policies and national development agenda.

The lawmakers, who were led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Halims and Hon. Leke Abejide of the ADC reaffirmed their loyalty to both Bello and Governor Ododo.
Halims described their gathering as a testament to the unity and strength of Kogi’s political leadership. He noted that their collective goal is to build a strong political family that remains united in advancing the interests of the state.

Abejide commended Bello’s political foresight, describing his decision to support Governor Ododo as divinely inspired. He stated that Ododo’s leadership has successfully sustained the existing unity among Kogi’s diverse ethnic groups while fostering peace and development.
The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar, expressed deep appreciation to Bello for his enduring leadership and mentorship. He pledged the Assembly’s loyalty and unwavering commitment, affirming that they stand firmly with Bello at all times.
