Bello Backs Ododo’s 2027 Re-election Bid

As momentum builds ahead of the next electoral cycle, former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has thrown his full weight behind Ododo’s 2027 re-election, declaring that there will be “no vacancy” in Lugard House.

Bello made the statement while hosting members of the Kogi Central Journalists Guild (KOCJG) at his residence in Abuja. He praised Governor Ododo’s leadership style, development agenda, and commitment to continuity, describing his performance in office as a clear demonstration of capacity and vision.

“Governor Ododo has shown capacity, vision, and commitment to the progress of Kogi State. Anyone nursing the ambition to contest against him in 2027 will only be wasting time and resources. There will be no vacancy in Lugard House,” Bello declared confidently.

The former governor commended Ododo’s visible achievements in key areas such as infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, and social welfare, noting that he has not only continued past initiatives but has elevated them to greater heights.

He also lauded the current administration’s robust approach to tackling insecurity, despite the state’s complex terrain. According to Bello, Kogi remains one of Nigeria’s safest states today, thanks to decisive actions taken under Governor Ododo’s leadership.

On the economy, Bello highlighted ongoing reforms in agriculture, particularly the provision of farming equipment and improved seedlings to local farmers. He described these efforts as foundational to achieving food sufficiency and long-term economic sustainability.

Bello urged all citizens and political stakeholders to rally behind Governor Ododo, stressing that unity is crucial for continued progress. “Governor Ododo is not just continuing from where we stopped, he is taking it even further. We must all support him to do more,” he said.

He further emphasized that the progress of Kogi State should be a shared mission. “The task of building a greater Kogi lies in the hands of every one of us. Let’s stand with the governor and work together for a brighter future.”
