Ododo Pledges Decisive Action Against Criminals in Yagba West


Decisive action against criminal elements in Yagba West has been pledged by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who reaffirmed his administrationโ€™s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property in the area.

The governor assured residents that proactive steps are being taken to combat the resurgence of criminal activities in the area. Represented by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Governor Ododo met with key stakeholders and security operatives from the local government, led by the council chairman, Hon. Tosin Olokun.

The meeting focused on strengthening the security architecture and bolstering local efforts to combat threats. Governor Ododo stated that his administration is not waiting for circumstances to deteriorate before acting.

โ€œWe are confronting the threats head-on. Our strategy is to make life unbearable for criminal elements operating within our borders,โ€ he said. He also emphasized the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in defeating insecurity.

He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the executive chairman, local leaders, and security forces in managing the situation, while also recognizing the bravery of local hunters who played a key role in ongoing operations.

โ€œTheir coordination and courage have been instrumental in disrupting criminal operations,โ€ the governor added.

Ododo expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and service chiefs for their continued logistical support in combating security threats across the state. He maintained that his government would not relent until all agents of insecurity are flushed out of Yagba West and the entire Kogi State.

Hon. Olokun, in his remarks, commended the governorโ€™s swift response and logistical support, which he said have boosted the morale of local security teams. He urged residents to remain alert and supportive of the stateโ€™s Community Security Initiative, stressing that collective vigilance remains key to lasting peace.
