Special Adviser on Media to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah is set to serve as the head Guest Speaker at the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kogi State Non-Governmental Organization Network (KONGONET).

The event, which is slated to hold on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, at the NUJ Press Centre, Lokoja, will bring together civil society leaders, development practitioners, media professionals, and relevant state actors for a day of dialogue and reflection on the state collaboration between state and non-state actors.

Hon. Isah confirmed his participation in a statement released by his office, where he expressed appreciation for the invitation, describing the engagement as a timely and important opportunity for collaboration within actors in the civic space.

He said the AGM, themed “Synergy for Socio-Economic Development: Uniting State and Non-State Actors for a Greater Impact in Kogi State,” would offer an opportunity to deepen collaboration between civil society and the government in areas of policy formulation, implementation and development outreach.

According to Isah, his keynote presentation will focus on the role of strategic communication in fostering transparency, citizen participation, and inclusive governance at all levels.

He noted that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration has consistently demonstrated openness to dialogue and partnerships, which he said are essential for sustainable development in the state.

“This invitation is a testament to the administration’s willingness to engage meaningfully with the civil space. As a government, we believe development should be people-driven, and that includes giving civil society a voice at the table,” he said.

He added that Governor Ododo has remained committed to building institutions, strengthening accountability, and working with all partners to promote open governance partnerships for the progress of the state.

The event is expected to draw stakeholders from across the 21 local government areas of the state, as well as partners from outside Kogi state.
