Ex-Kogi Deputy Governor Joins Tinubu-Ododo Camp, Backs Continuity Drive

Former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, has thrown his weight behind the continuity agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, pledging his full support for their re-election and ongoing policies.

The endorsement came during a high-level visit by members of the Okun League of Progressive Elites (OLOPE 4 TOC), who met with Awoniyi at his Abuja residence to formally induct him as an ambassador of the pro-continuity advocacy group.

Awoniyi, a respected figure in Kogi’s political landscape, declared without ambiguity: “I am 100 percent for Tinubu and Ododo continuity. I won’t abandon the progress we have made to pursue needless coalitions.”

He expressed confidence in the leadership style and developmental direction of both Tinubu and Ododo, describing the duo as drivers of sustainable governance. According to him, his alignment with the OLOPE 4 TOC movement stems from a shared vision to consolidate national gains and deepen transformational policies.

The OLOPE 4 TOC movement, led by Director General Hon. Alfred Bello, is spearheading a grassroots and elite mobilization effort in support of the continuity of Tinubu’s presidency and Ododo’s administration in Kogi. Speaking during the visit, Bello stressed the need for Okun elites to stand united for meaningful political and socio-economic advancement. “This is a critical moment to back leaders who are delivering on their promises,” he said.
