Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has officially sworn in Dr. Olufemi Bolarin as the Commissioner for Livestock Development.
The swear in was performed in a brief ceremony during the State Executive Council meeting held today in Lokoja.
Dr. Bolarin, who was screened and confirmed by the Kogi State House of Assembly a few months ago, now formally assumes office to drive policies and programmes aimed at boosting livestock production and strengthening value chain in the livestock sub-sector in the state.
Governor Ododo expressed confidence in the new commissioner’s ability to deliver on his mandate, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to agricultural diversification and transformation of the rural economy.
Kogi State was the first state in Nigeria to create the Ministry of Livestock Development following the approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the creation of the ministry at the federal level in July 2024.
