DG Govt House Inducted as Fellow Chartered Institute of Administration

The Director General, Government House Administration in Kogi State, Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA).

The induction ceremony took place at the Government House, Lokoja, and was attended by members of the Governing Council of the Institute led by its President and Chairman of Council, Ugochukwu Azubuko, as well as top officials of the Kogi State Government led by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade.

In his address, the Institute’s President, Azubuko, congratulated Dr. Shuaibu on the recognition, describing it as a well-deserved honour for his contributions to public service administration. He noted that the Institute prides itself on excellence and professionalism, and the conferment of the Fellowship was proof of the inductee’s expertise and dedication to the field.

Azubuko further emphasised the importance of professional administration in achieving organisational success, stating that no business or institution can thrive without sound administrative structures. He encouraged the awardee to remain active in the Institute, which offers programmes and training to continually update the skills of its members.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, described Dr. Shuaibu as “a man of honour, wisdom and integrity” whose career had inspired many in accountability, transparency and efficiency. He said the Institute made no mistake in admitting him into its Fellowship and expressed confidence that his membership would add value to its activities.

In his response, Dr. Shuaibu dedicated the recognition to his family, mentors and colleagues, pledging to uphold the Institute’s values of professionalism, integrity, and excellence. “I look forward to contributing my experience to advance the field of administration and public service, driving innovation, best practices, and impactful leadership,” he stated.

He further assured the Council of his commitment to the development of the profession, adding that he was “super excited” to be part of an esteemed community dedicated to advancing civil administration in Nigeria.
