Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on citizens to embrace unity and support leaders in order to achieve the collective vision of development for the state.
He made the call in Okene at the weekend during the three day Fidau prayer in honour of his late father, Alhaji Momohsani Ododo, who passed away in Abuja at the age of 83.
Governor Ododo emphasized that the progress of Ebiraland and Kogi State at large depends on the people’s willingness to work together in harmony and sacrifice for the greater good.
According to Governor Ododo, unity remains the strongest foundation for peace and sustainable development.
Governor Ododo also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continuous support to Kogi State, assuring that the people would reciprocate the President’s goodwill at the appropriate time.
“President Tinubu has been leading from the front with genuine concern for Kogi State. We will continue to give him our full support to enable him succeed,” he said.
In his remarks at the prayer session, former Governor Yahaya Bello urged the people to remain patient with Governor Ododo, expressing confidence that his administration will surpass previous achievements. He commended the Governor’s efforts across the three senatorial districts, describing them as practical and impactful.
“It is my fervent prayer that he performs more than I did as governor. Every father wishes his children greater success in life. His performance so far is visible, and I am confident it will earn him a second term with ease,” he said.
The Fidau prayer was attended by family members, political leaders, traditional rulers, and well wishers who joined in prayers for the peaceful repose of the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani .
