The Federal Government has unveiled two new digital platforms aimed at curbing fraudulent practices in the housing sector and improving transparency in project delivery.

The initiative, announced by the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on Tuesday, introduces a Housing Fraud Reporting Portal where Nigerians can report fraudulent activities in housing estates, upload evidence, and track the progress of their complaints.

According to the Ministry, complaints submitted through the system will be jointly reviewed with stakeholders, including professional bodies, law enforcement agencies, and the judiciary. The move is expected to deter fraudulent developers and hold offenders accountable.

“This web-based platform allows citizens to report incidents of fraud in housing estates. Fraudulent practices will no longer be tolerated, and offenders will face the full weight of the law,” the Ministry stated.

The Housing Fraud Portal was developed by Messrs Freestone Investments Limited and Messrs Prunedge Development Technologies Limited, in partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to ensure proper tracking and follow-up of cases.

Alongside the fraud portal, the Ministry also launched the Contract Performance and Compliance Project.
