The Itinochi Revolution team has expressed readiness to partner with the office of the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Ismaila Isah, in advancing cultural revival through the 2925 edition of its annual festival.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser in Lokoja, the team lead, Omeiza Peter, said the visit was informed by the need for deeper collaboration and wider visibility ahead of this year’s edition of the Itinochi Cultural Festival themed “Beyond Borders, Beneath the Root.”
He described the festival as a platform that connects people to their roots while promoting the dignity of Ebira tradition, stressing that partnership with key stakeholders would further enhance cultural promotion and community pride.
Also speaking, the founder of the Itinochi Revolution, Haruna Abdulhamid, emphasized the socio-economic value of the cultural initiative as he noted that women, through traditional weaving and other hand crafts, have historically supported their families and contributed significantly to local economies.
According to him, reviving such practices would not only preserve heritage but also empower a new generation both economically and culturally.
Responding, Hon. Isah commended the resilience and creativity of the young minds behind the Itinochi project and pledged his support to promote the festival through the LugardTV platforms.
He further emphasized that the initiative has grown remarkably over the years and has the potential to earn national recognition as part of events i. Nigeria’s cultural calendar.
The Governor’s spokesman also urged the team to sustain their efforts, stressing that projects of this nature are vital in preserving cultural identity, empowering youth and showcasing Kogi State’s heritage to the world.
