The death of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsanni, father of the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo attracted sympathy from the length and breadth of Nigeria.
From President Bola Ahmed Tinubu represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, State Governors, top government officials, business leaders, traditional rulers and members of various communities in Kogi and other states; Kogi state became a Mecca of sort as sympathisers thronged the state to pay condolence visits to the Chief Servant of the state who in his trademark humility was full of appreciation to everyone who found time and space to express condolences to his family and the people of the state.
Following the mourning of the father of the Governor was a moment to relive memories of the journey to statehood by the people of the state as they celebrate the 34th anniversary of the creation of Kogi State which was marked in solemn fashion but not without the call on the people to be united and committed to the ideals of the founding fathers of the state thus reigniting the bond among the people of the old Kabba Province who were hitherto separated by their respective sojourns in Kwara and Benue states.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo used the occasion of the state’s 34th anniversary to celebrate milestones achieved in education, infrastructure, healthcare and agricultural transformation despite challenges faced by the state.
In addition to reflections on the lifetime of the late father of the Governor and echoes from the 34th anniversary of the creation of the state, this edition presents reports of the progress made by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in different sectors of the economy with a refreshing slant that relives development strides by the administration in no less compelling fashion.
