NANS Joint Campus Council Marks International Students’ Day 2025

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council, Kogi State, has joined students across the world to commemorate the 2025 International Students’ Day.

This year’s celebration with the theme “Empowering Students to Be Agents of Change”, aims to reawaken a culture of creating positive change through knowledge.

Speaking at the event, the president, NANS Joint Campus Council Kogi state, Comrade Ojo Adeoye, commended the Kogi State Government for its sustained investment in education, including the payment of WAEC fees and bursary for students.

He urged students to see themselves not just as recipients of knowledge but as catalysts for transformation, adding that education is the key to success, and a foundation for change.

Comrade Adeoye also appealed to students to maintain peace across campuses, noting that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of stability.

Also speaking, Kogi state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Monday Anyebe, highlighted the importance of sacrifice and selflessness, especially among students in leadership positions.

He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to youth development.

He noted that leadership starts with the little choices individuals make daily and encouraged students to embody the positive change they desire, as the future of society rests significantly on their shoulders.

The event also featured the launch of educational materials aimed at improving the welfare of students across the state.
