The Kogi State Bureau of Lands has expressed readiness to deepen its partnership with Lugard TV to improve public awareness and understanding of land administration processes and ongoing reforms in the state.

This commitment was made during a working visit by the LugardTV team, led by the special adviser on media to the Governor, Hon Ismaila Isah.

Receiving the delegation, the Director General of Kogi state Bureau of Lands, TPL Kehinde Salihu-Otaru stated that effective communication is essential to the Bureau’s mandate, especially as the state transitions into a fully digital land administration system.

He noted that the media remains a major stakeholder in educating citizens, dispelling misconceptions, and promoting transparency in land-related matters.

“The media plays a vital role in bridging the gap between government agencies and the public. As we work to digitalize our processes and correct long-standing issues in land administration, we need credible partners like Lugard TV to help amplify accurate information”.

He highlighted the importance of public sensitization on issues such as land documentation, layout regularization, the new Kogi State Geographic Information System (KOGIS) platform, and government policies guiding land allocation and use.

The DG commended Lugard TV for its professionalism and willingness to collaborate, acknowledging the station’s contributions to information dissemination and community engagement.

In his remarks, the special adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon Ismaila Isah while appreciating the Bureau for the warm reception, emphasized the station’s commitment to supporting government development efforts.

He described the visit as an opportunity to strengthen ties and explore avenues for consistent media coverage of the Bureau’s activities.

The special adviser affirmed readiness to produce informative content and updates on activities of the Bureau to educate and equip residents with the knowledge they need to engage responsibly on land matters in the state.
