Kogi Children’s Parliament Lauds Lugard TV, Highlights Youth Leadership Gains

The Kogi State Children’s Parliament has paid a special visit to Lugard TV, commending the station for its role in amplifying youth voices and providing extensive media coverage of children-focused initiatives across the state.

Acting Speaker of the Children’s Parliament, Hon. Abdulsalami Muhammed, praised Lugard TV for consistently placing young Kogi leaders in the national spotlight.

He described the station as a key partner in promoting responsible leadership among young people in the state.

“Lugard TV has been instrumental in highlighting our activities and achievements. You have championed young leaders and helped put Kogi State on the map nationally,” Muhammed said during the visit.

The children also celebrated the successful hosting of the state’s first-ever Children’s Summit, calling it a historic step in preparing “today’s children for tomorrow’s world.”

National Clerk of the Nigeria Children’s Parliament, Hon. Isah Fatima Umar, thanked Lugard TV for the warm reception and reaffirmed the parliament’s commitment to youth development, unity, and leadership across Kogi State.

She described the visit as an inspiration to continue working toward empowering the next generation of leaders.

In his response, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and head of Lugard TV, Hon. Ismaila Isah, commended the children for initiating the summit and emphasized the importance of early exposure to leadership.

He described the summit as a vital platform for grooming future leaders and encouraged them to balance leadership with strong academic and professional development.

“Leadership is important, but it should go hand in hand with building your skills and career. Some of the best political leaders started with strong professional foundations,” Isah said, urging the young leaders to embrace teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong learning.
