BUA Chairman Pledges $500,000, Goal Bonuses to Super Eagles After Algeria Win

The Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced major financial incentives for Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In a statement shared on Saturday via his official X handle, Rabiu congratulated the team for their impressive performance and revealed performance-based rewards for the remaining matches of the tournament.

He pledged $500,000 to the players if they win the semi-final, along with an additional $50,000 for each goal scored in that match.

Rabiu further stated that if the Super Eagles go on to win the final, he will reward the team with $1 million, plus $100,000 for every goal scored in the final.

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria. You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” he said, urging the players to continue making Nigeria proud.

Nigeria booked their place in the semi-final after goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams secured a comfortable win over Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech.

The Super Eagles will now face host nation Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday, January 14th, at 9:00 pm at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The win extended Nigeria’s perfect record at the tournament to five victories from five matches, with the team scoring 14 goals. The Super Eagles have also become the first team in AFCON history to win their opening five matches in a single edition.

Nigeria, champions in 1980, 1994, and 2013, are now aiming to secure a fourth AFCON title, with growing confidence among fans that the team has the quality to go all the way.
