Professor Sanusi Avidime has assumed office as the new Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, marking a significant milestone in the history of the institution.
He succeeds Professor Usman Ogbo, whose tenure as Rector ended with his appointment and assumption of duty as the Vice Chancellor of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The change in leadership signals a continuation of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and service to the community.
In his address upon assumption of duty as the Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof Avidime promised to focus on strengthening capacity for academic excellence, promoting innovation, and advancing institutional development at the Polytechnic.
Prof Avidime brings to the position years of academic and administrative experience, and he is expected to build on the success of his predecessor.
Meanwhile, members of the Polytechnic community have expressed optimism that his tenure will usher in a period of sustained growth, improved learning outcomes, enhanced capacity development and inclusive focus on the welfare of staff and students of the polytechnic.
