Kogi APC Elects Aliyu Momoh Chairman

The All Progressives Congress has elected Aliyu Momoh as the new Chairman of the party in Kogi State, following a state congress marked by broad participation and internal consensus.

The congress, held on Tuesday in Lokoja, attracted party leaders, government officials, elders, and accredited delegates from all the 21 local government areas of the state, reinforcing the APC’s emphasis on inclusiveness and collective decision-making.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo described the peaceful conduct of the congress as evidence of growing cohesion within the party, noting that internal democracy remains central to sustaining APC’s political strength in the state.

The governor congratulated Momoh on his emergence, expressing confidence that the new chairman would provide steady and inclusive leadership while strengthening grassroots mobilisation ahead of future electoral contests.

He also urged the newly elected executives to maintain constant engagement with stakeholders across the state.

In his acceptance remarks, Momoh pledged to lead with transparency, discipline, and loyalty to party members, assuring that his leadership would focus on unity and consolidation.

Governor Ododo further reaffirmed Kogi’s commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the state would play a decisive role in the 2027 general elections.
