Kogi Youth Assembly Endorses Tinubu, Ododo, Yahaya Bello

Kogi State Chapter of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello for the presidency, governorship, and senatorial elections respectively, citing their leadership records and commitment to development.

The endorsement was announced during a gathering of the Assembly in Lokoja, where youth leaders declared their support for the three political leaders whom they described as champions of youth empowerment and good governance.

Speaking at the event, the Fourth Assembly Speaker of the Youth Assembly, Muhammad Yabagi, said the decision was based on confidence in the proven capacity and dedication to public service by the leaders.

“Our gathering today is for a clear and purposeful reason — to officially declare our support for distinguished leaders who have demonstrated commitment to service and the progress of our people,” he said.

According to him, the Assembly endorsed President Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election noting that his vision and reforms are aimed at strengthening the country and repositioning it for sustainable growth.

At the state level, the group declared support for Governor Ododo to continue in office as the Governor of Kogi State beyond 2027, while also backing
former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate.

In his remarks, immediate past Speaker of the Third Assembly, Kehinde Theophilus, urged young people across the state to actively participate in the democratic process by registering and updating their voter registration.

“Do not sit back and wait to complain about governance. Make your voice count,” he said.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilization, Fatima Allahdey, emphasized the growing role of women in leadership and governance.

“Women are no longer spectators; they are at the forefront of leadership, inspired by noble leaders to contribute meaningfully to our nation’s progress,” she said.

The Youth Assembly further called on members across local government areas in the state to mobilize support for the aspirants endorsed by the Assembly, stressing the importance of youth-driven participation in shaping the future of governance.
