Ododo Urges Unity in Ajaokuta

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on the people of Ganaja Community and the entire Ajaokuta Local Government Area to remain united in order to accelerate development and sustain peace in the area.

The Governor made the call on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to Ganaja Community, where he emphasized the need for collective responsibility among stakeholders in driving meaningful progress in Ajaokuta.

Governor Ododo stressed that community leaders and stakeholders must be deliberate and intentional in promoting development initiatives that will uplift the living standards of the people.

He commended traditional rulers for their role in maintaining peace but issued a stern warning against unlawful land transactions.

He cautioned traditional rulers against engaging in the sale of community land without due process, noting that any member of the traditional institution found culpable would face banishment.

In his remarks, the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sani Egidi, expressed appreciation for the continued support of youths and women in the area.

He also commended Governor Ododo for his commitment to infrastructure and socio-economic development, while commending stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in advancing the wellbeing of people in the local government.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Haruna Ogido also praised the Governor for his dedication to the welfare and development of the people.

Other stakeholders at the event praised Governor Ododo for bringing governance closer to the grassroots.

They noted that Ganaja and Ajaokuta Local Government have witnessed significant progress in recent times, citing improvements in education, healthcare, security, road infrastructure, and the establishment of a free trade zone as key milestones capable of transforming lives of residents.
