Ododo Pledges Stronger Partnership to Improve Education

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has pledged to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions to enhance learning environment and outcomes across the state.

The governor made this known while receiving the management of the Federal College of Education, Okene, led by its Provost, Dr. Ibrahim Ismaila Mosimabale, during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Lokoja.

He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of unity and cooperation within the institution, urging the leadership of the college to maintain cordial relationships that would promote academic excellence.

Governor Ododo assured the FCE Okene delegation that all requests presented by the Provost would be given due consideration, reiterating that education remains a top priority of his administration.

He stressed his readiness to partner with the college to improve infrastructure and ensure efficient delivery of quality education.

The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies aimed at advancing education, particularly the student loan initiative, noting that Kogi State would show its appreciation to the president at the appropriate time.

In his remarks, the Provost of the college, Dr. Mosimabale expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ododo for granting audience to delegation and for his support for his emergence as Provost of the college.

He described the governor as a humble and approachable leader whose inclusive style of leadership has fostered unity across diverse groups within and beyond Kogi State.

He praised the governor’s developmental strides, highlighting improvements in road infrastructure, healthcare facilities, rural electrification, and the revitalization of public schools, noting that these efforts have significantly impacted both urban and rural communities.

The Provost also commended the administration of Governor Ododo for its focus on workers’ welfare, including prompt payments of salaries and pension, tax relief measures, and empowerment initiatives targeting women, youths, and vulnerable groups, which he said have strengthened public confidence in governance.

Dr. Mosimabale appealed for the governor’s intervention in critical areas affecting the college, including support for infrastructure development, power supply, transportation, and the fast-tracking of funding for sports facilities needed to host the Nigeria College of Education Games.

On his part, Chairman of the Governing Council of the College Prof. Akinwale Coker, who was represented by Dr. Salome Aniama, a member of the Council and Director of Quality Assurance at the College, commended the Governor for prioritising education in his administration.
