Ohinoyi Honours Gen. Otaru, Assures Recognition for Community Service

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, has pledged to continue to sustain celebration of sons and daughters of the Ebira nation who have actualised themselves in life and given back to the communities while in service.

The monarch made this known during the grand reception and coronation of Retired Major General Usman Tahiru Otaru as the Ajimasi of Ebiraland.

Ohinoyi Anaje said the honour bestowed on the retired Major General was in recognition of his courage, selfless service, and sustained contributions to humanity.

He noted that the celebrant has consistently demonstrated goodwill toward the community through various impactful interventions including the establishment of two primary healthcare centres in Adavi and Okehi local government areas among other interventions in Communities.

The royal father called on well-meaning Ebira sons and daughters to emulate such acts of service, emphasizing that his reign will continue to acknowledge and reward individuals who contribute meaningfully to the development of their homeland.

In his remarks, Major General Otaru expressed gratitude to the Ohinoyi and the entire Ebira nation for the recognition.

He described giving back to the community as a deeply rooted cultural value, anchored in maintaining strong ties with the community.

He further noted that the tradition of community service is also upheld within the Nigerian Army, particularly under the leadership ethos of the Chief of Army Staff, a principle he said has shaped his own commitment to service beyond active duty.

Highpoint of the occasion was the formal decoration of the new Ajimasi of Ebira land with full regalia and instrument of recognition by the Ohinoyi witnessed families and friends of the celebrant, among many Ebira sons and daughters.
