NACOMYO Honours Governor Ododo at 5th Tarbiya Programme

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO) in Northern Nigeria zone, has honoured Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, with an award of excellence in recognition of his commitment to youth development, moral leadership, and inclusive governance.

The award was presented at the 5th Tarbiya Programme 2026 an annual gathering aimed at fostering discipline, unity, and spiritual growth among Muslim youths across the northern region of the country with the themed “Building Morally Upright, Socially Responsible and Spiritually Rooted Muslim Youths.”

Speaking at the event, the Chief Host and Chairman of NACOMYO, Kogi State, Sheikh Suleiman Dansoho, said the honour was a reflection of Governor Ododo’s visible strides in empowering young people and promoting value-driven leadership.

He noted that support for youth-focused initiatives and peaceful coexistence by the administration Governor Ododo has created an enabling environment for religious and social harmony.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, the Director General, Protocol, Government House Administration, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim, commended the group for the award reassuring the group of the Governor’s support.

He noted that Governor Ododo’s policies will continue to prioritize the welfare and moral upbringing of youths, adding that such acknowledgment would further inspire the government to sustain its developmental efforts.

The Guest Speaker and Chief Imam Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Sheikh Usman Tauheed, spoke on the importance of nurturing a generation grounded in faith, integrity, and social responsibility.

He commended NACOMYO for its consistency in shaping the character and future of Muslim youths, while urging participants to embody the values of discipline, tolerance, and service to humanity.

The Tarbiya Programme brought together scholars, community leaders, and youth groups from across the 19 Northern states, reaffirming a shared commitment to building a morally sound and progressive society.
