In a fresh push by the Kogi State Government to strengthen internally generated revenue, the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service and the Kogi State Lottery Commission are set to deepen institutional collaboration aimed at expanding the state’s revenue base and supporting sustainable development.
This was the focus of the strategic meeting between the leadership of KGIRS led by the Executive Chairman, Dr. Sule Salihu and the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Lottery Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Rajab during a courtesy visit focused on building synergy between both agencies.
Rajab said the partnership would accelerate the smooth take-off of the Lottery Commission while creating innovative revenue channels to support government projects across the state.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to developing sustainable revenue streams for infrastructure and other developmental projects, expressing confidence that the partnership with KGIRS would promote innovation, efficiency and effective service delivery.
The lottery commission’s boss described the KGIRS as the leading agency in revenue administration which he noted is vital to the success of the lottery commission.
Earlier Executive Chairman of KGIRS, Dr. Sule Salihu welcomed the collaboration, describing the establishment of the Lottery Commission as a strategic step towards broadening the State’s revenue sources.
He assured the Commission of the full support of KGIRS, stressing the agency’s commitment to partnerships that drive economic growth and fiscal sustainability.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally Generated Revenue, Dr. Rahman Ichanyi, said stronger cooperation among revenue-generating agencies remains critical to increasing internally generated revenue and delivering sustainable development in the state.
