Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema delivered a memorable performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, joining BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Brazilian singer Anitta for the live debut of their collaborative song, Goals.
The performance took place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday, officially launching the tournament in the United States. Representing Africa, Asia and Latin America, the trio brought together Afrobeats, K-pop and Latin pop in an energetic show that entertained thousands of fans.
Rema appeared on stage in a white hooded outfit and impressed the crowd with his performance alongside Lisa and Anitta.
Released in May as part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album, Goals was produced by Grammy-winning producer Cirkut, along with Bava and Pink Slip. The song has quickly gained popularity for its upbeat sound and inspirational message.
Rema closes the track with an Afrobeats-inspired rap verse, highlighting his journey and success on the global music stage.
Other performers at the ceremony included Future and Tyla. The event was held ahead of the United States’ opening World Cup match against Paraguay.
Rema’s appearance came just a day after fellow Nigerian star Burna Boy joined Colombian singer Shakira to perform the tournament’s official anthem, Dai Dai, during the opening ceremony in Mexico
