President Bola Ahmad Tinubu will leave Abuja today, Friday, 6 November, for a two-day visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
The Presidency announced the trip on Thursday through Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. He will first visit Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital, to commission projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration and attend a political rally.
The state government has declared Friday a work-free day.
In Uyo, the president is scheduled to open the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport.
He will also commission the Airport-Okopedi Road, Ring Road 3 linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road, the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The visit comes after Eno’s defection from the PDP to the APC in 2025, and it is Tinubu’s first visit to the state in more than a decade.
On Saturday, 7 November, Tinubu will travel to Port Harcourt to attend the APC rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The two-state tour is part of the ruling party’s mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, and the Rivers rally is reported to be his third campaign outing.
