Super Eagles Climb to 24th in Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed to 24th position in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings, their highest ranking in 16 years.

The three-time African champions moved up the ladder following a string of impressive performances over the past year, continuing their steady rise among the world’s top football nations.

The latest ranking also sees Nigeria become the second-highest ranked team in Africa, behind only Morocco, further underlining the team’s resurgence on the international stage.

Although the Super Eagles are not taking part in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, their recent results have earned them significant points in the FIFA rankings. Nigeria were among the biggest movers in the rankings after finishing third at the Africa Cup of Nations, where they claimed the bronze medal.

The ranking is Nigeria’s best since May 2010 when the team reached 21st in the world. It also marks the first time the Super Eagles have returned to the top 25 globally in more than a decade.

With a blend of experienced stars and emerging talents, the team has continued to show signs of progress under head coach Eric Chelle. The latest ranking will serve as a major boost for the Super Eagles as they look ahead to future international assignments.

Fans will hope the upward movement in the rankings is a sign of even greater success to come as Nigeria aims to re-establish itself among the world’s football elite.
