The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Kogi State Chapter, has congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the people of Kogi State as the state celebrates its 35th anniversary.
In a statement signed by the union’s State Chairman, Comrade Sunday Emejeh, ASUSS congratulated the state’s political leaders, traditional rulers, workers, students, business owners and residents.
The union described Kogi as an important state in Nigeria because of its location at the meeting point of the Niger and Benue rivers. It also acknowledged the challenges the state has faced over the past 35 years while commending successive governments and residents for the progress recorded.
ASUSS particularly praised the present administration for its attention to education. The union said continued investment in teachers, schools and other educational facilities would help improve the quality of education in the state.
The union also pledged to continue working with the Kogi State Government to improve secondary education, promote industrial harmony, support teachers’ welfare and improve learning outcomes.
ASUSS ended its message by praying for wisdom, good health and fairness for the state’s leaders, as well as continued peace, unity, security and prosperity for the people of Kogi State.
The union wished Kogi State a happy 35th anniversary and called for continued progress in the state.
