FIFA Withdraws Forward Enterprise Project After Stakeholder Consultations

FIFA has officially withdrawn its proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project after consultations revealed that the initiative had caused divisions among Member Associations and other key stakeholders.

In a statement shared on its official X account, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the project was designed to strengthen Member Associations and support the growth of football, especially in countries that need the most assistance.

According to Infantino, the proposal was always intended to move forward only if it received the support of the majority of FIFA’s Member Associations after consultations with the FIFA Council, Confederations, and other stakeholders.

However, feedback from the consultation process showed that the project had become divisive, making it no longer suitable to pursue.

“Our purpose has always been and will always be to unite and improve,” the statement said.

As a result, FIFA confirmed that the FIFA Forward Enterprise project will not proceed.

The world football governing body said it will now focus on rebuilding consensus among stakeholders and continue working towards the development of football worldwide, particularly in countries that require greater support.
