Barcelona Survive Late Levante Fightback to Win 4-2

Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season with a 4-2 victory over Levante on Sunday.

The defending champions took control early in the game as Xavi Espart opened the scoring in the fifth minute. Lamine Yamal then doubled Barcelona’s lead in the 19th minute after a good team move.

Yamal scored his second goal shortly after the restart, converting a penalty in the 48th minute to put Barcelona 3-0 ahead.

Levante, however, refused to give up. Iván Romero reduced the deficit in the 79th minute after a defensive mistake from Barcelona. Roger Brugué then scored nine minutes later to make it 3-2 and put the home side back into the game.

Levante continued to push for an equaliser, but Barcelona held on and sealed the victory in stoppage time. Substitute Karim Adeyemi scored in the 93rd minute to restore Barcelona’s two-goal advantage.

The victory gives Barcelona 15 points from five matches and keeps them three points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table. Raphinha also played an important role, providing two assists.

Barcelona will return to action on Wednesday when they face Racing Santander, while Levante will prepare for their next league match.
