The Kogi State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa has led civil servants across the state on a health walk through the streets of Lokoja, urging workers to prioritise their health and well-being for improved service delivery.
The health walk, held on Monday, formed part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week and began from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), ending at Ganaja Junction.
Addressing the participants, Falilat said a healthy workforce was essential to effective and efficient service delivery in the state.
“A healthy civil servant is a productive civil servant. When our people are strong in body and sound in mind, the quality of service we deliver to the people of Kogi State can only get better,” she said.
She commended the turnout and enthusiasm of the participants, adding that the Civil Service Week, themed “Digital Transformation, a Panacea for Better Civil Service Delivery,” was an opportunity to celebrate the service and renew workers’ commitment to their duties.
According to her, activities such as the health walk would help civil servants maintain the stamina, focus and team spirit required for effective performance.
Falilat also urged workers to attend the opening ceremony and lectures scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
“I want to see everyone there tomorrow. The lectures are for all of us, and we must take full advantage of them,” she said.
The health walk attracted civil servants from Ministries, Departments and Agencies across the state, with many participants wearing customised T-shirts and caps and carrying banners highlighting the theme of the week.
Several groups also displayed messages on projects and initiatives of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, including the Kogi State International Airport, youth and sports development and the Ultra Modern Market.
