Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ijeoma Emi, popularly known as Mercedes, has appealed to Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy for help in securing accommodation, saying she no longer feels safe or comfortable in her current home.
The 26-year-old entrepreneur and performance artist made the appeal on social media, explaining that she has struggled to establish herself financially since leaving the reality show.
According to Mercedes, although many people believe that appearing on the show guarantees financial success, she is still working hard to rebuild her life and career.
She said having a place of her own would provide her with safety, independence and peace of mind while allowing her to focus on her professional goals.
The former housemate also explained that her current accommodation has affected her work as a content creator and pole dancer.
She said the low ceiling in her home makes it impossible to install a dance pole indoors, forcing her to practise on the balcony, where sunlight and rain often interrupt her training.
In her appeal to Don Jazzy, Mercedes said she was not seeking a luxurious lifestyle but simply needed a safe space where she could develop her skills and become independent.
She wrote that having her own accommodation would allow her to practise pole dancing safely, create content consistently and grow her career.
Mercedes also acknowledged that the music executive receives many requests for assistance but expressed hope that he would consider her appeal.
Her request has since attracted reactions on social media, with several fans calling for support for the former reality TV star.
