The United States is offering a $20 million reward for information on Iran’s nuclear programme, including its facilities, equipment and associated personnel.
The US Central Command announced the offer on Friday, saying the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme was also offering possible relocation to anybody who provide credible information.
In a statement posted on X, the command urged anyone with relevant information to submit tips through the programme’s website.
The announcement comes amid international concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities.
In 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that the country was enriching uranium to 60 percent purity, close to the 90 percent required for weapons-grade material.
The US and Israel struck Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025. Following the attacks, President Donald Trump said the sites had been “completely and totally obliterated”.
However, subsequent assessments indicated that the strikes had weakened the programme rather than completely destroyed it.
On February 28, 2026, both countries launched a wider military campaign against Iran, saying they aimed to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.
The offensive killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in its opening phase and triggered retaliatory attacks by Tehran, escalating the conflict.
The war also disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil supplies.
