Governor Ododo calls for interfaith unity and cooperation in Kogi, urging citizens and religious leaders to set aside differences and work together for the state’s collective progress.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the Government House in Lokoja, Ododo emphasized the importance of collective action in promoting peace and unity.
The Governor highlighted that Kogi State’s rich and diverse mix of ethnic and religious groups presents both challenges and opportunities. He stated that embracing interfaith dialogue and collaboration is crucial to building a harmonious society where peace and unity can thrive.
Ododo assured the religious leaders that his administration is committed to the cause of peace, stressing that Kogi will continue to be a place where crime and violence will not be tolerated.

Ododo expressed his gratitude to the leadership of both JNI and CAN for their continued support in promoting peace and interfaith cooperation in the state. He acknowledged their unwavering dedication to ensuring the people of Kogi live in an atmosphere of mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance.
Ambassador Usman Bello, Chairman of JNI, praised the long-standing relationship between JNI and CAN, emphasizing that their collaborative efforts have been key to fostering interfaith harmony in Kogi. He revealed that JNI has been working alongside 31 other associations within the state, all united in their mission to promote peace and unity among the people.

Emmanuel Adebayo, Chairman of CAN in Kogi State, thanked Governor Ododo for his inclusive approach to governance, particularly in appointing Christians to key positions in his administration.
He acknowledged the Governor’s commitment to peace and the strengthening of cooperation between CAN and JNI. Adebayo also expressed gratitude for the support received by the association, which included food palliatives and financial assistance from the state government.
