In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has reiterated the government’s commitment to the well-being and development of children across the state.
Addressing students, parents, and educators during a lively event at the Government House in Lokoja, she emphasized the importance of education, compassion, and resilience in shaping a brighter future for Kogi’s youth.
Hajia Ododo, clearly delighted by the performances and creative displays from students, praised their talents and academic efforts. She noted that the array of presentations was a testament to the growing impact of government investment in the state’s education sector.

According to her, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration is focused on building a system that nurtures the vast human potential in the state.
The First Lady issued a heartfelt appeal to teachers, especially those in public schools, to go beyond academics by mentoring and nurturing their students as if they were their own children. She urged educators to model integrity, kindness, and dedication, highlighting their critical role in shaping future leaders.

As part of her advocacy for children’s welfare, Mrs. Ododo pledged to continue promoting access to free and quality education for every child in Kogi State. Encouraging children to remain focused on their studies, she reminded them not to be deterred by their background or circumstances. “Dream big,” she told them, “because your future is bright. Never forget your roots, and always strive to be a beacon of hope and kindness.”
