Vardy and Cordova-Reid Spark Dramatic Leicester Comeback

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s unbeaten run as Leicester City’s manager continued after a thrilling 2-2 draw against Brighton. Trailing 2-0 late in the match, the Foxes mounted a stunning comeback, scoring twice in quick succession through Jamie Vardy and Bobby Cordova-Reid. The dramatic turn of events at the King Power Stadium ensured Leicester earned a well-deserved point in a match that saw Brighton falter in the closing moments.

Brighton seemed to be cruising toward a comfortable win after a brilliant first-half goal from Tariq Lamptey. In the 37th minute, Pervis Estupinan’s precise cross found Lamptey, who cut inside before curling a stunning shot into the far corner of the net. It was a moment of individual brilliance that gave Brighton the advantage heading into the break.

The Seagulls extended their lead in the 80th minute with another superb solo effort. Yankuba Minteh, after collecting a long ball, bamboozled Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen with a series of quick moves before firing past goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. With the score at 2-0, it appeared Brighton had sealed the victory, but Leicester had other plans.

The Foxes quickly responded, with Jamie Vardy finding the back of the net in the 86th minute. A cross from Justin James was deflected into Vardy’s path, and the veteran striker made no mistake, calmly finishing to make it 2-1. The goal revitalized Leicester’s hopes, and their relentless pressure in the final stages paid off.

In stoppage time, Leicester completed their remarkable comeback. Vardy, again involved, set up Cordova-Reid for a simple tap-in that leveled the score at 2-2. The Foxes’ late surge preserved van Nistelrooy’s unbeaten start, while Brighton were left to reflect on missed opportunities that cost them the win.
