Kogi Demands Repatriation of Notorious Kidnap Kingpin from Kwara

The Kogi State Government has urged the Inspector General of Police to direct the Kwara State Police Command to transfer notorious kidnap kingpin, Kachalla Mamman Dandolo, to the Kogi State Police Command for thorough investigation and prosecution.

In a statement signed by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Retired), Kogi State refuted claims by the Kwara State Police Command that they were responsible for Dandolo’s arrest. According to Omodara, the suspect was apprehended by Kogi security agents after an intensive manhunt led them to a hotel in Pategi, Kwara State.

The statement described the refusal to transfer Dandolo as counterproductive and a potential threat to justice, alleging that there may be a deliberate attempt to shield the suspect. Omodara stressed that such actions could undermine the morale of security agencies working to combat crime in the state.

Dandolo is accused of masterminding numerous kidnapping and criminal activities in Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas of Kogi State. His capture followed months of coordinated efforts by Kogi’s security forces to dismantle his criminal network.

Commander Omodara reassured Kogi residents of the government’s commitment to ensuring that Dandolo faces justice. He warned against any actions that could interfere with legal proceedings, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between states in the fight against crime.

The Kogi State Government called for swift action to ensure Dandolo’s transfer, emphasizing that justice must prevail to uphold the confidence of citizens and security personnel alike.

Kachalla Mamman Dandolo, also known as “Dandolo,” is infamous for orchestrating a reign of terror in Kogi State, particularly in Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas. Over the past year, Dandolo is believed to have led a criminal syndicate responsible for multiple high-profile kidnappings, armed robberies, and the cold-blooded murder of hostages who failed to meet ransom demands. His network is said to extend beyond Kogi State, with connections to other criminal groups operating across neighboring states, making him one of the most wanted criminals in the region.

Reports from security agencies reveal that Dandolo’s operations were marked by meticulous planning and ruthless execution. He often targeted travelers and residents in remote areas, exploiting the challenging terrain to evade capture. Victims have recounted harrowing tales of his gang’s brutality, including prolonged captivity under inhumane conditions.
