Top officials of the Kogi State Government have embarked on an inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects across the state.
The tour, led by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo and his Works Counterpart, Mohamed Yusuf and other top government officials bring the spotlight on investment in road infrastructure, revitalization of healthcare facilities, education, and erosion control by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo beginning from Kogi West.
Speaking during the inspection, the Commissioner for Works emphasized that several road construction projects are ongoing in fulfillment of Governor Ododo’s development agenda.
He cited the ongoing 10km road construction in Mopamuro, where 4km of asphalt laying is currently in progress, as a testament to the commitment of the state government.

The Commissioner noted that in Yagba West, another 10km of road has already been completed, aligning with the administration’s campaign promise to deliver a minimum of 10km of roads in every Local Government Area across the state.
Residents of Mopamuro expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ododo for reviving previously abandoned road projects and for according priority to the grassroots in his development agenda.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications further reiterated that the developmental strides are in line with Governor Ododo’s vision to touch lives even in the remotest parts of the state.
The Commissioner also announced that the present administration is renovating 256 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), in all 239 wards in the state.
At the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ileteju in Mopamuro, the officer in charge, Aguda Ruth commended the Governor’s investment in healthcare.
She reported that patients under the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) receive adequate services, and critical cases are promptly referred to secondary or tertiary health institutions.
Also, the team also inspected the Primary Healthcare Centre, Aiyegunle Igun in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, where renovations are ongoing.
The team also visited the ACReSAL Gully Erosion Control site in Omigbo, located in Kabba-Bunu local government area
The project, executed in collaboration with relevant agencies, is part of the government’s efforts to curb environmental degradation and ensure community safety.
At the Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba, the team was received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kehinde Eniola, who praised the current administration for its unwavering support for the university.
He highlighted the rapid transformation of the institution, crediting both Governor Ododo and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, for laying and consolidating on the foundation for academic excellence in the state.
Speaking at the University, Commissioner for Information and Communications, described the institution as a “perfect example of continuity in governance.”

During a stop at GYB Model Secondary School in Okebukun, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, revealed that the successes recorded in the education sector of the state is a manifestation of sound policies of the government especially the allocation of over 30% of the state’s annual budget to education.
Also in Kabba, a security post built adjacent the university, by Chairman of Kabba-Bunu local government area, Barrister Zaccheaus Dare, was inspected by the team.
The structure aims to bolster security around the university campus, a proactive step in light of broader security concerns in the area.
The multi-sectoral inspection underscored the resolve of the Ododo-led administration to bring sustainable development to all corners of Kogi State.
