The Vice-Chancellor of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu, has urged eminent sons and daughters of Kogi Central to rise above divisions
and work collectively for the unity and advancement of the state.
Prof. Salawu made the appeal when he hosted executives of the Kogi Central Think-Tank Forum on a courtesy visit to his office.
He said elites from Kogi Central have a unique role to play in shaping development through their experience and influence.
The CUSTECH Vice Chancellor commended the group for its longstanding contributions to governance, policy formation and institutional growth.

According to him, the experience of distinguished elders who have served in various capacities in the state and beyond is a vital asset for Kogi State’s progress.
“You have laid a solid foundation through your years of service in public and private life. I urge you to continue lending your wisdom and guidance to ensure that Kogi Central and the state at large achieve sustainable growth,” he stated.
The delegation, led by Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, expressed appreciation to the university management for engaging members of the forum in meaningful roles within the institution.
Dr. Yussuff singled out the appointments of Mr. Austyn Onimisi Ochu as Head of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, and Prof. Emmanuel Ohize as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Education, as examples of the university’s inclusiveness.
Prof. Salawu further appealed to the elders to extend their counsel and support to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, noting that the administration stands to benefit immensely from the collective wisdom of individuals who have previously occupied top government positions, including former Secretaries to the State Government.

The meeting was attended by other top management staff of the university, including the Bursar, Mr. John Alaji; Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Dr. Shehu Shaib; and Head of Internal Audit, Alh. Hussain Muhammed, who joined the Vice Chancellor in welcoming the visitors.
The Kogi Central Think-Tank comprises senior citizens who have served the state and the nation in various capacities.
