Kogi First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, Visits Families of Deceased Accident Victims in Okene, Okehi — Offers Support, Comfort

Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has paid a compassionate visit to survivors and families of victims of the recent fatal road accident that occurred along the Lokoja–Okene highway.

The First Lady visited several affected communities, including Oboroke in Ihima, Ageva, Odenku, Agassa, Kuroko in Adavi, and Eika, among others where she condoled with bereaved families and offered support for those still recovering from injuries.

Hajia Sefinat, who was accompanied by top government officials, including the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Acharu Okpanachi, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.

“I was deeply shocked and touched when I heard the news of this accident. My husband, the Governor, and I share in your grief and pain, and we will do whatever we can to offer our support,” she said with a voice heavy with emotion.

She added, “I was truly pained by this incident, but it is the will of God. We cannot question our Creator; we can only pray for His protection and ask Him to prevent future occurrences. May Allah grant mercy to all the departed souls, and may Aljannah Firdaus be their final place of rest.”

During the visit, the First Lady announced that the children left behind by the deceased would receive assistance to enable them to complete their education.

The First Lady who was also at the residence of the APC Deputy State Women Leader in Oboroke, Ihima, Hajia Habibat Alabi, a survivor of the crash, assured that the Ododo-led administration remained committed to putting the citizens first ahead of any other consideration and pledged support to those injured in the accident .

Family members who spoke during the visit expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s timely and heartfelt intervention, describing it as a true demonstration of her commitment to the welfare of the people.

They noted that her support would help ease the sorrow caused by the sudden loss of their loved ones.

The visit also featured special prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for the quick recovery of the injured.
