Gov. Ododo Visits National Hospital

… Supports Patients, Hospital Staff

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended financial support worth ₦5 million to cater for emergency needs of indigent patients at the National Hospital, Abuja.

The Governor who was on courtesy call to the hospital last week also offered a truck load of rice for staff of the hospital as end of year gifts in appreciation of their dedication to service which he noted often goes beyond their regular duty calls in some cases.

Governor Ododo commended the management and staff of the hospital for their role saving lives and contribution to the growth of Nigeria’s healthcare system.

He praised the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Muhammad Mahmud, and the management team for sustaining the hospital’s mission despite operational challenges.

He further pledged to mobilize additional support from well-meaning Nigerians, noting that contributions to the hospital are direct investments in the nation’s health and well-being.

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director. Prof. Muhammad Mahmud thanked the Governor for the gesture, describing him as a compassionate and visionary leader.

He reaffirmed the hospital’s readiness to partner with the Kogi State government in medical training and other initiatives aligned with the Governor’s vision for the health sector.

He noted that with continued federal government support, the National Hospital remains committed to improving healthcare delivery, reducing medical tourism, and expanding access to quality treatment in Nigeria.
