Gov. Ododo Calls for Unity in Ijumu

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called for unity and cooperation among the people of Ijumu, emphasizing that collective effort is essential for the progress of the state.

Speaking during his courtesy visit to the palace of the Olujumu of Ijumu, the Governor said the visit marked his first official stop at the palace since assuming office, noting that he was there to express appreciation and strengthen collaboration with the traditional institution in line with the agenda of the agenda of the administration to strengthen the traditional institution for more relevance in governance at the grassroots.

Governor Ododo commended the traditional institution for their leadership and for maintaining peace in the area, describing their cooperation with security agencies as exemplary.

“We have gone beyond the politics of bitterness. What we are doing is for the good of our people. Unity is the pillar that will move Kogi State forward,” he said.

The Governor also praised the philanthropic gesture of a prominent son of the state, Prince Olatunjo Olusoji whome he said has quietly supported educational and community development efforts, including awarding fully funded scholarships to hundreds of students stressing that such individuals represent the kind of talent Kogi must embrace and bring closer to its development agenda.

Earlier, the Olujumu of Ijumu, Oba Williams Ayeni expressed joy at the governor’s visits and commended him for fulfilling promises made during his previous engagements.

The monarch applauded the administration’s interventions in areas of security, healthcare, and political inclusion with the appointment of illustrious sons and daughters of Ijumu into key positions in the Kogi state government.

He affirmed the readiness of the traditional institution to continue to support the programmes and policies of the state government.
