Engr. Yusuf Marks Gov. Ododo’s Birthday with Empowerment Drive in Adavi

Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf, has celebrated the birthday of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo with a large-scale empowerment programme for residents and party stakeholders in Adavi Local Government Area.

The event, held at Tafari Hotels and Suites, was framed as a tribute to the governor’s leadership and a practical demonstration of support for his development agenda.

Addressing attendees, Engr. Yusuf praised Governor Ododo’s people-oriented governance, noting that the administration has repositioned Kogi State as a hub of construction activity while delivering visible gains across key sectors.

He described the governor as a dynamic and visionary leader whose projects are impacting communities statewide, and reaffirmed Adavi LGA’s unwavering political alignment with the Ododo administration across all eleven wards.

The celebration drew prominent government officials, political leaders and traditional authorities, who echoed similar sentiments. In goodwill messages, the APC State Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello; the Auditor-General for Local Governments, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege; and the Ohi-Otenyete of Ebiraland, Daudu Isa Ozi Salami, commended the governor’s transformative approach to governance.

They also applauded Engr. Yusuf’s performance as Commissioner for Works, citing ongoing infrastructural projects as evidence of his commitment to service.

As a highlight of the event, Engr. Yusuf disbursed cash empowerment to beneficiaries across Adavi LGA, including N200,000 to each ward chairman, N100,000 to 24 local government executives and ten women, and N50,000 to 92 beneficiaries drawn from the wards.

He said the intervention aligns with his long-standing focus on grassroots development, recalling past initiatives such as support for women leaders, health assistance for indigent citizens, and scholarships for vulnerable students efforts he described as complementary to the Kogi State Government’s broader development goals.
