Kogi Govt Commends Citizens for Credible Security Information

The Kogi State Government has commended residents for their cooperation and continued support in providing credible information that has significantly aided security agencies in the arrest of bandits and other criminal elements across the state.

The commendation was given by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), in an exclusive interview with Lugard TV.

He acknowledged that timely and reliable intelligence from members of the public has played a critical role in strengthening security operations and enhancing safety across the state.

While expressing gratitude to the people, Commander Omodara emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, stressing that the safety of lives and property must always come first and should be seen as everyone’s business.

He noted that security agencies cannot function effectively without accurate and actionable intelligence from citizens.

He further explained that crime and criminal activities are community-based challenges, pointing out that no one is exempted from the consequences of crime in any society.

According to him, information that may appear insignificant can have far-reaching effects, adding that tips provided by residents have helped prevent attacks and saved many lives.

The State Security Adviser urged citizens not to relent in their support for security agencies, noting that by sharing information, they are not only assisting the government but also safeguarding themselves and their communities.

Comrade Omodara also cautioned against politicizing security matters, explaining that bandits do not recognize political affiliations and are solely driven by the intent to cause destruction and instability.

Reaffirming the Kogi State Government’s open-door policy under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, he called on residents to remain vigilant and proactive, urging them to always report suspicious activities.

“When you see something, say something,” he said.
