WAEC Launches Digital Certificate Services in Nigeria, Ghana, Others

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has launched its Digital Certificate Services System known as WAEC DigiCert, across its five member countries.

The announcement is contained in a statement by the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC Headquarters, Accra, Ghana, Demianus Ojijeogu, on behalf of the Registrar.

According to Ojijeogu, the digital certificate services is fully operational in Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

He noted that the digital certificate platform is a mobile and web-based application designed to provide stakeholders with seamless access to digital versions of original certificates.

”The WAEC Digital Certificate Services System offers candidates the opportunity to access, request, confirm and securely share digital copies of their certificates with institutions worldwide,” he said.

The Council said the system enables users to recover lost examination numbers while guaranteeing authenticity and reducing the delays associated with manual certificate processing.

Waec assured that the introduction of Digicert will not affect the printing and issuance of physical certificate, urging the public to download the mobile application or visit its official website and social media platforms for more information.
