Federal Govt Declares Friday, May 1 Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 1, public holiday to celebrate this year’s International Workers Day.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Magdalene Ajani said the minister congratulated workers across the country on the occasion.

The Minister commended Nigerian workers for their dedication and commitment to national development.

He noted that their efforts remains vital to the country’s growth and prosperity.

Tunji-Ojo urged workers to embrace patriotism, productivity, and commitment to duty, describing them as essential for sustainable development.

The Minister reaffirmed Federal Government commitment to supporting the welfare and security of all workers and creating a favourable environment for economic growth.

While wishing workers a happy celebration, Tunji-Ojo urged all Nigerians to remain peaceful and law-abiding, and to reflect on the values of unity and hard work in nation building.
