…. Commends Transparent Process
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has applauded the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries, describing the exercise as a reflection of the party’s dedication to democratic values and internal cohesion ahead of the general elections.
The governor spoke shortly after participating in the APC presidential primaries at his polling unit in Upogoru/Odenku Ward, in Okene Local Government Area of the State.
He described the process as orderly, transparent, and peaceful.
The governor also expressed appreciation to party members for their impressive turnout and active participation in the exercise.
“I want to sincerely thank our party members for coming out en masse to participate in this primary election,” the governor said. “This level of participation demonstrates the strength of our democracy and the commitment of our people to the progress of the APC,” he said.
Governor Ododo noted that the conduct of the primary election further shows the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to democratic ideals and adherence to due process within the party.
“Mr. President is a firm believer in democracy, and what we are witnessing here today and across the state is a free, fair, transparent, and credible process,” he said.
The governor maintained that President Tinubu has consistently encouraged fairness, inclusiveness, and healthy competition within the APC.
“He has always demonstrated his commitment to democratic ideals. As you can see, he submitted himself to this process just like every other aspirant. That is leadership, and we cannot thank him enough for laying this template and building a very solid foundation for younger generations to emulate,” Ododo added.
Governor Ododo also emphasized the importance of sustaining transparent and credible internal party processes, stressing that strong democratic institutions can only thrive when political parties uphold fairness and accountability during primary elections.
