Kogi Govt Urges Timely Completion of KSU Kabba Projects

The Kogi State Government has called on contractors handling various projects at Kogi State University, Kabba to accelerate work on sites currently behind schedule.

Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones made the call while on the inspection of the projects in Kabba alongside the Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye and the State Project Consultant, Engineer Mike.

Wemi Jones noted that apart from the contractor handling the Faculty of Science, all other contractors were given 12 Months to complete the projects and hand them over to the state government.

” I recall very clearly when I handed over the construction of the projects to the contractors, apart from the faculty of Science, all the other projects were expected to be completed within twelve months,” he said.

According to him, the inspection was aimed at assessing the progress of work, identifying factors responsible for delays and exploring measures to ensure the successful completion of the projects.

While commending the quality of work done so far, the commissioner urged contractors to intensify efforts to meet project deadline.

Similarly, the State Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development Hon. Abanika Taiye commended the contractors for the quality of the work done on the various sites but emphasised on the need to complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe.

He said the contractors had been adequately mobilised for the projects, encouraging them to sustain the pace of work to ensure timely delivery.

In his response, the State Project Consultant, Engineer Mike, on behalf of the project team assured that the projects would be ready for commissioning on the first of September, 2026.

He further disclosed that the work on the Male and Female Hostels is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

The team inspected key project sites, including the ultra- modern senate building, male and female hostels and the faculty of science complex.
